5 Years!!

Mike and I have been married five years tomorrow! We started dating in September of 2000, so we've been together for almost nine years. They have definitely been the best years of my life! I never doubted that I married the right person, but seeing him with Trent every day reminds me that he is the perfect man for me. He is completely committed to us, and I am so thankful God blessed me with him!
Speaking of blessings, Paw Paw is now home from the hospital. Trent is still a little congested, but we never saw any signs of the ear infection. Does this look like a sick baby to you? Mike says he is tough like his daddy:)

And I know Paw Paw is making this face, now that he's home from the hospital...

Sick

Trent has his first ear infection. I would have never guessed it, because he has not had a fever or been fussy. He started coughing yesterday and sounded a little congested today. After testing negative for RSV, (thank goodness!) the doctor told us it looks like he has a cold that lead to an ear infection. Mike and I have both been congested recently, so we could have passed it on to our little man:( Actually, I probably don't need to call him "little man," as he weighed in at 17.5 pounds tonight at the doctor's office.
Trent isn't the only one that's been sick around here. Bailey was diagnosed with gastroenteritis, after a trip to the emergency vet at 6:30 Sunday morning. She was throwing up blood {sorry if that's TMI} but after fluids and antibiotics and an $800 vet bill , she is doing much better.

Lastly, but most important, please pray for my Paw Paw. He is in the hospital, after having chest pains today. He is one of the strongest men I know, and he doesn't let much slow him down.

Four...

is the number of times we changed Trent's clothes before church this morning. He kept spitting up just enough to warrant another outfit. I know my mom and probably some others are thinking I could have just wiped it off, but it was too much for that; and I didn't want to take him to church smelling like spit-up... at least not yet.

Yes, we own tons of bibs, and twice they were on him when he managed to spit up around the bibs. If he hadn't been so dang happy the whole time he was spitting, I might have backed out of church. Oops, I did try to back out after the third outfit, but Mike insisted that God was not giving us signs to skip church.
We left him in the nursery today for the first time, and they promised me he did great. He only cried once, when he woke himself up from a nap with a big burp and simultaneous poot. He is his daddy's child. So, my question is... what is the maximum number of times you have changed your child's outfit before leaving the house? Four seems like an awful lot to me; he might have gone in a onesie if he'd messed up number four.

15 weeks old... maybe I should have taken him to church like this:)

He loves his daddy!

I'm Back

I survived my work trip to Orlando. The little man survived too- thanks to my super duper husband and awesome mom! My mom kept him during the day, and she sent him home with sterilized bottles and clean clothes {imagine how much time that saved me when I got home last night!} She even sent Mike home with dinner one night, but he didn't have time to eat it until 9pm. Why can't men multitask? Just kidding! He did a great job.Trent loved Mama D's stroller and was glad he was big enough to ride in it!
Unfortunately, something else keeps coming back to our house-- LIZARDS!!! I saw one last week in the corner of the den. I was on the phone with my mom, and she said I could sweep it out... um, that didn't work. I had to get out the vacuum cleaner and use the sucker thing to get him. Don't worry- he survived- it was probably like a roller coaster ride for him.
Well, another one came in today when I opened the back door to let Bailey out. I tried to get him out with my shoe, but he kept going the wrong direction. I resorted to the vacuum cleaner again. Both times I immediately ran outside and released them into the outside trash can. Any advice on how to keep lizards away? Bailey has absolutely no interest in them, but I'm sure Trent will find them fascinating in a couple of years.

Bless his heart...

I usually replace the hand towels in our bathroom. I guess I was slacking on my job, because this is what I saw when I walked into the bathroom...

He claims he didn't know it was a Christmas towel. Don't ask me how he found it, since I keep the Christmas towels separate to prevent things like this from happening. I couldn't help but smile...

But I didn't look this cute when I smiled:)

Kreativ Blogger

I got my first ever blogger award!! Thanks to Rachel at Moments with my Miracles for giving it to me! She has an awesome blog and tons of blogging friends, so I was so excited and honored that she picked me for the award.

So, here are the rules...1. When given the award, you list 7 things that you love.2. Pass the award onto 7 bloggers that you love and be sure to tag them and let them know they've won.[You can copy the picture of the award and paste it on your sideboard.]

7 Things I Love:

1. Great deals {and I just found some... check out Remember Nguyen for super cute smocked outfits for less than $30! Look under clearance.}

2. Starbucks Caramel Frappuccinos

3. Pictures {I don't even want to count how many I've taken of Trent during his first 3 months of life!}

4. Being tan {I got a spray tan a couple of weeks ago, and it was such a tease! I was tan for 4-5 days and then went back to being pale. I think being tan makes your teeth look whiter and your fat look smaller!}

5. Diet Grapico {I'm drinking one now. I'm sure some of you are laughing right now, but it's really good!}

6. Monograms

7. Oreos and ice cream {Dairy Queen blizzards, Sonic Blasts, McDonalds McFlurrys, Wendy's Twisted Frostys, Chick-fil-a Cookies and cream shakes, etc. Yes, I find this creation anywhere I go!!}

Now I give this award to 7 friends and bloggers (this means you get to put the cute little award on your blog, so don't let me down by not participating and passing it on)!

1. Maggie at The Coopers
3. Laura at The DeLine's
4. Ashley at Ashley and Andy
5. Tabitha at The Hickman Herd
6. Brooke at The Vakakes Family

Time for Change...

I'm giving the blog a new look, so it may look a little crazy for a while:)

Lots of Firsts

Over the past few weeks, Trent's had lots of firsts...

He now holds his head up well.

He sits in the Bumbo without crying or losing control of his head. {He also drools like crazy- notice the bibs in every picture.}He had a two-person tickle that put him to sleep quickly {Thanks Mama D and Daddy G.}
He went to the lake to see Paw Paw.
He enjoyed relaxing at the lake:)
He sat outside at the lake with Mama D.
Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of many other firsts. Mike and his dad {Papa} went to the Masters this weekend and missed Trent's first Easter . Mike's mom {Mimi} came to visit Friday; then Trent and I went to see my mom and dad Saturday night. Trent attended his first Fish Fry Friday night, then went to "the land" for the first time and rode the Ranger with Daddy G and Aunt Tracy. I wish I had pictures of him bundled up like a little Eskimo.
Mimi bought Trent these super cute outfits. Aren't they adorable? They are size 9 and 12 months, because he is already wearing 6 and 9 month clothes- crazy!
Won't he look cute wearing this one sitting next to Bailey? Thank you so much Mimi! I wish I'd taken a picture of you with Trent.
A week from today will be another first. Next Monday is my first day back to work. This day will probably not include pictures and smiles because I will be in Orlando at a meeting, probably crying , but we're thankful to have excellent child care for him. If you happen think about it, say a quick prayer for me us.

Pictures

Mari Wilkes took Trent's first professional pictures last Friday. She did a great job and is quite possibly the most patient person I've ever met. She spent most of the day with us and didn't mind at all when Trent had to take a break to nap and eat. We love the preview pictures and can't wait to see the proofs. Thank you Mari!

Funny Daddy

Apparently Mike is hilarious! He was changing Trent in our bathroom last night, {hence the half-dressed child and bad lighting} and the little man was cracking up. I've never posted a video on the blog before, so I hope it works:)
