5k for Footprints

I'm trying to talk Mike into blogging. He writes well, and I think his posts would be pretty funny. We'll see if it actually happens!
On another note, I'm excited because Bailey is getting SHAVED tomorrow!! Does anyone else have labs, or other dogs that shed horribly? Shaving is the way to go when it's hot outside. The next post will show before and after pictures-- of her and maybe even the hardwood floors!

Faith
When I started this blog, I decided to stay away from the "c" word (cancer). We have Mike's CaringBridge site for health updates, so I wanted to keep this blog fun and light-hearted. But, Mike wrote his own entry tonight, and it's so much more than a health update. His faith is amazing and inspiring. Many of you have asked me how I stay strong; this is how I stay strong. Here's the link: Mike's CaringBridge site.

Love to read?
Harlan Coben's new book Hold Tight is out, and it's a page-turner. I page-turned last night from 8:30 to 1:00 am; I started it and finished it last night! When I told Mike I bought it and was going to start it last night, his first comment was, "Don't stay up all night reading." He knows me all too well. I seriously can not stop reading a good book unless I have to stop, and sleep does not justify stopping most of the time. Mike is in Houston this week, so I didn't have anyone reminding me of the time. The four and a half hours and 416 pages flew by! Does anyone love to read this much?
On an entirely different subject, check out my weekend project. I've never planted anything, so this urn was a big step. Thankfully my awesome mom made it easy by providing all of the materials (urn, plant, rocks, soil, etc.) Now my only job is to keep it alive!

Tagged
So as it goes, my great friend Sarah tagged me. Per the rules of the game, you have to read a few things about me. I sure hope you enjoy! Read all the way to the end of the post to find out if you've been tagged, my friends!!! :) Here we go!!!!
What was I doing 10 years ago?
I was about a month away from graduating OHS (go Dogs... or is it Dawgs now?) I was super excited about going to the University of Alabama in the fall. My parents were probably still praying that I'd change my mind and go to Auburn, but I'd been Tuscaloosa-bound since the 10th grade. I'd just figured out that I didn't need a boyfriend in college, so my life was full of break-up drama. I was excited about our "senior trip" to Panama City Beach (it's okay- you can laugh).
5 things on my To-do List Today
1. It's Saturday, so what is the Reed Saturday morning tradition? Starbucks!!! (this one is already completed)
2. Go to Home Depot to get some flowers to put in my urn (according to my mom and sister, the plant I have in there now is not big enough, so it needs some flower friends)
3. Hang a print in our kitchen (I have to get the wire at Home Depot)
4. Join the YMCA (Mike and I have been talking about it for months, and I haven't worked out since December; it's time to get started!)
5. Go eat Mexican with Mike, Brittney and Richard
5 Snacks I Enjoy
1. Ice cream/frozen yogurt (TCBY, Chick-fil-A ice dream, McDonalds, etc. As long as it's soft-serve, I'm loving it!)
2. Hot Tamales (I bought 5 of the big boxes yesterday at Target, and they will be gone in a week)
3. Pasta Salad (Yes, it's weird, but I am addicted to Betty Crocker's Classic Pasta Salad. It's fabulous! Get a box at the grocery store near you!)
4. Mini Vanilla wafers (Mike just reminded me of this one, as I just ate half a box after dinner last night)
5. Twizzlers (strawberry or cherry, not the black kind)
5 Things I would do if I were a Billionaire
1. Tithe 10% then give lots more to Hodgkin's Research, ministries and other non-profit organizations
2. Build a new house with everything we've ever wanted included (Bailey would have her own room!)
3. Invest
4. Travel (and bring along our families and friends)
5. Hire a cook, housekeeper and trainer (of course our new house would have a gym!)
5 Bad Habits
1. I am super impatient... about everything! I realize that God's plan is the right one, but I'm always trying to rush Him along in showing it to me.
2. Eating too many sweets and not enough fruits and veggies (that's why I take Juice Plus... 17 fruits and veggies!)
3. spending too much time on the computer (blogging, email, facebook, myspace... I have it all!)
4. talking on the phone while driving (I have to be talking to somebody if I'm driving... it's multi-tasking, folks! It's also why I have unlimited cell phone minutes.)
5. complaining about the dog hair on the floor (it gets out of control so quickly!)
5 Places I have lived:
1. Opelika, AL for 18 years (I lived in the same house the whole time I lived at home. My parents built a beautiful, new house after I left for college.. coincidence?)
2. Tuscaloosa, AL for 4 super-fun college years (Tutweiler, Meador Drive, then the Alpha Chi house for 2 years- I still miss the AX house! It can't get any better than living with all your best friends... always fun and your closet multiplies!)
3. Oxford, AL for about a year when I first started with Pfizer (Thank God that Heidi and Brandi were there too! Mike and I actually got engaged at my townhouse in Oxford. I pulled my ring out of a pumpkin... that story is worthy of another blog!)
4. Trussville, AL for a year and a half when we first got married (Aww.. the newlywed days! Trussville was Bailey's first home.)
5. Montgomery, AL since October 2005
5 Jobs I've Had or Have:
1. Lifeguard
2. Swimming Lessons Teacher
3. Gulf States Paper Internship
4. Pfizer primary care rep
5. Pfizer specialty rep
5 people I want to know more about (you're tagged!)
1. Maggie
2. Laura D.
3. Brandi M
4. Bethany A
5. Amy W

Pictures from this weekend
Here are some pictures from the ball this year. The 80's theme was so much fun! The only things missing were the crimper and the bangs... thank goodness:)

May we please go now?

This could be our butler bringing me a fun drink...
Could this place get any better?? Well, the price could definitely get better, but of course I'm justifying it, since we have a travel card. Even my super-practical, money-saving, low-maintenance husband is almost sold on this little piece of heaven.
