Help Wanted

We have finally decided to put some effort into our house. When we bought it five years ago, we expected to be here 2-3 years at the most. I didn't think about window treatments, and we just hung things on nails that were already in the walls. {I can only imagine the looks on some of your faces right now!} It's a relatively new house, and the blinds worked just fine for us.

Five years later, I'm sick of looking at the same stuff on the walls, and I'd gladly send the glass kitchen table with anyone who would come pick it up. However, I have ZERO talent in decorating/design. I know I'm not good at it, so I don't do it. My mom and my sister move things around and make suggestions, but I think it's time to take it to the next level.

I'd like for someone to come in and look around, move some of our stuff around, and offer suggestions for new items. I'd love for this person to do some of the shopping for these new items as well. Does anyone know of somebody who does this? {Or maybe just somebody that could do this, they don't have to be a professional.} I don't plan on spending an incredible amount of money, so I don't want to waste the time of a high-profile designer.

If you have any recommendations, please let me know!! I'll be happy to give more details if you want to email me. I'll gladly post before and after pictures if we can make it happen:) Thanks!!

Pretty Weather and the Easter Bunny

What do you do when the weather is finally warm and pretty? We take way too many pictures!

My shoulders are still sore from perfecting this one.

This afternoon, the Easter Bunny came to our neighborhood. Trent really liked him. It blows my mind that the same child who will not let people he doesn't know hold him, will gladly sit in the lap of a big bunny.

When we got home, I saw something odd in my fake plant.

I took him out and returned him to his home.

I'm guessing this guy had something to do with it.

Playing, Walking, Singing, Working and Trimming

We had a super busy weekend. I'll let the pictures tell the story...

The little guy played with his ball,

and practiced his new walk.

DSC_0478
The big guy sang along with iTunes. He was preparing for his hard day of work the next day. He's going to love that I posted this picture on the blog!

DSC_0540
Handy Daddy and Handy Papa worked hard Friday. You know they're serious when they wear those glasses.

IMG_2378
They built these shelves in our attic. Don't they look great?

DSC_0498
Mimi spent the morning walking around with this little man.

DSC_0561
Then I came home, and we all went to the playground to do a little swinging.

DSC_0650
Trent wore his Daddy's Kelly's Kids outfit from 1981. How neat is that? Mimi said it is still in great condition, because it doesn't have diaper access. {Thank goodness Kelly's Kids fixed that!}

DSC_0603
Trent had lots of fun with Mimi and Papa.

DSC_0692
This is his excited face:)

DSC_0713
Saturday morning we rode to work with Daddy in our pajamas. We got so busy playing with Mama D, Daddy G, Aunt Tracy, and Trevor that we left them on until lunch time.

DSC_0760
After lunch, we finally changed clothes and attempted some pictures. Trevor and Mama D did great in every singe one. I wish I could say the same for Trent and Daddy G.

DSC_0801
You see, once you learn how to walk, you want to perfect your skills. So you walk around and fall down all day.

IMG_2364
Last night when we got home, Trent got another trim from yours truly. My mom joked that his hair was getting in the way of his eyelashes, so something had to be done. It isn't fixed in this picture, but at least you can see his eyes.

Trent wore his lucky outfit to church today, and it did not bring the same luck. He cried until he finally fell asleep. Oh well, you can't win them all. Hope you had a great weekend too!

Loving some brushing

DSC_0456

I gave Trent the toothbrush after I brushed his teeth tonight. What, you don't brush your teeth in the bath tub? ha!

DSC_0452

He brushed and brushed until we finally took away the toothbrush.

We hope he has teeth like his Daddy, who has never had a single cavity and will gladly tell you all about it. I, on the other hand, have had braces twice, four root canals and crowns, and even an implant {a tooth implant.} Mike jokes that my teeth have cost us more money than his cancer. I blame it on genetics, because it certainly can't be the "bag of fun" that I usually keep in my car.

This little guy is usually super happy after his bath.

DSC_0486

However, he was not super happy when I was trying to take pictures of him walking earlier tonight:)

Raise your hand if you can walk

DSC_0412

Yes, at almost 14 months old, Trent has decided to walk. He started taking a few steps here and there a few weeks ago, but he didn't get serious about it until yesterday. We accidentally kept him up past his bedtime tonight, because we were having so much fun watching him perform walk. He's pretty advanced; he can already walk and suck his thumb at the same time. HA!

In other news... I cut his hair tonight. I only cut the back, and it looks okay. {Jana, I need your skills!} I even used shears. You should have seen the looks on the faces of the Ulta employees when I walked in and told them I was looking for "hair cutting scissors." One woman even followed me to the isle and asked whose hair I was planning on cutting. She actually talked me out of the scissors and into making him an appointment for this afternoon. Unfortunately, she was 30 minutes behind when we got there, so I opted for the shears. He still needs a real haircut, so I'd appreciate any recommendations.

Dedication and Spring

This sweet boy was dedicated to the Lord last weekend...

DSC_0650

He did so well and looked absolutely precious!

Trent didn't wear the outfit. I made a mad dash to Strasburg on our way to Auburn and found this outfit. I might put him in it every Sunday, because it brought good luck in the nursery. He usually cries most of the time, and he only cried when we dropped him off Sunday. {I think it was because we dropped him off at 8:15, and our church doesn't start until 10:00- his nap time.} Is this outfit more masculine?

DSC_0436

We went to O'Charley's for brunch after the service. Both boys did great. Trevor slept, and Trent ate for an hour and a half. We attempted a family picture.

DSC_0403
I wish Tracy the photographer had told me to sit up or Mike to lean down, but at least we're all looking at the camera. Check out how long my baby bangs have grown!

DSC_0439
Doesn't my mom look cute? I picked our her outfit. She tends to favor jackets with shoulder pads.

I hear the warm weather is coming back this weekend. Come on Spring! Between the wagon and the swing, we usually have a happy little boy when we're outside. We've taken full advantage of our warm days over the last couple of weeks.
